A Jewish male about 45 was shot dead at the Kosel on Friday morning.
According to police, the man was in the restroom adjacent to the Kosel. He shouted Ala Akbar and then reached for something in his pocket. This prompted a security guard to open fire, striking the man.
MDA paramedics worked to resuscitate the victim who was in traumatic cardiac arrest. He was pronounced dead on the scene a short time later.
Police closed down the area immediately after a gunfire was heard.
The security guard is being questioned by police.

Why is this being said in such a matter of fact way? seems like were missing something ..?!?!
something doesnt make sense, a jewish person doesnt say ala akbar, only a muslim or arab, not a jew. so how could it be that a jewish person said it?!
On the scant facts available so far, this sounds like a “suicide by cop” case, with an Israeli twist. Why would a Jew shout in Arabic, in the presence of a security guard, in a location which is a potential target for a spectacular act of anti-Jewish, anti-Israeli terror?
Intoxicated? Insane? Suicidal? Acting like a terrorist in a place where terrorist attacks are a concern is not normal behavior.
Shot, not killed
According to the secular press, he was a known homeless meshuganah who should have been known to the security guard since he usually hung out in the area, and was known to be harmless. From their description, he should probably have been institutionalized, though the trend in many countries has been to let severely mentally ill people wander the streets.
