The cost of taking a taxi in Israel will increase beginning on Wednesday, 11 Tammuz 5773 by 3.8%. The increase is the result of periodic rate adjustments to compensate for increased operating costs, such a diesel fuel.
At present, the stating fare is 11.80 NIS and that will increase to 12.30 NIS. The surcharge for ordering a taxi by phone will increase to 5.20 NIS from the current 5.00 NIS. The surcharge for a third passenger increases to 4.90 NIS from the current 4.70 NIS. The 5.00 NIS surcharge from Ben-Gurion International Airport remains unchanged.
If a passenger prefers traveling on the Kvish 6 toll highway, the rate will be 16.60 NIS instead of 16.00 NIS today.
The last rate adjustment was in March 2012, when rates increased by 6%.
