Two Jerusalem residents, men in their 20s, escaped with their lives in an attack in the Beit Orot area of the eastern capital on Wednesday morning, 11 Tammuz 5773. Their vehicle was bombarded with rocks by Arabs, smashing all the windows.
As the mob gathered they were unable to continue driving, deciding to make a run for it. As they were fleeing, additional Arabs arrived and began beating the two, who B’chasdei Hashem managed to run while phoning police.
The two waited for police in the area, adding it took about 20 minutes for a patrol car to arrive. Area Jewish residents warn “someone is going to be killed here”, expressing harsh criticism over the attitude of police when it comes to Jews under attack. Arutz-7 quotes a resident saying “The police are too busy worrying about price tag incidents and they are not addressing these attacks.”
