Newly elected PA (Palestinian Authority) Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah visited Har Habayis, telling reporters this status of the holy site is among his highest priorities after being elected. The senior PA official was in Yerushalayim on Sunday, 8 Tammuz 5773, visiting Har Habayis and Makassed Hospital in the eastern capital accompanied by Jerusalem Grand Mufti Sheikh Mohammed Hussein and a number of PA ministers and officials.

Hamdallah spoke of “Israeli violations” on Har Habayis and the area, adding he is working with the international Arab community to gain additional support for PA plans for Jerusalem. He did not go into detail.
