In light of the very harsh words leveled against him in by Maran HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef Shlita during his motzei Shabbos drasha, persons close to Rav Stav responded, lashing out at politicians.
Persons close to Rav Stav targeted Shas leader MK Aryeh Deri in particular, citing after 50% of Knesset members belonging to Shas admitted that Deri is a liar, deceives them and as a result harmed Rishon L’Tzion Rav Amar Shlita in his effort to serve a second term, Deri has now succeeded in dragging Maran HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef Shlita to lash out at a rav who is also a dayan and a respectable rav in Yisrael, a person who he never met in person. “It would be preferable for Deri to focus on the remnants of his party and to cease to make a chilul Hashem and harm the health of Maran Rav Yosef Shlita!”
Persons close to Rav Amar did not mention Deri by name, but in their response wrote “To our sorrow, there are political elements trying to plant seed of disharmony and hate among Gedolei Yisrael. Red lines have been crossed here by politicians with the goal of advancing their personal agendas. They are willing to harm the Rabbanut in Israel along with the all that is holy to the residents of Eretz Yisrael. True love exists between Maran Rav Ovadia and Rav Amar and no dispute will succeed in placing an obstacle between these Gedolei Yisrael Shlita”.

I totally agree,
which is why its very unfortunate that gabaim influence gedolim as per their agenda. how sad.
Rav Shteineman was against any deals with Bayit Yehudi.
The rav said clearly in his speech that rabbis of the MIZRACHI came and spoke badly of stav, not shas MP’s
So all complaints should b 2 those rabbis
#3 – Interesting, were you there? In any event you will be happy to hear that many leading D”L and Charda”l rabbis, including harav Druckman and harav Eliyahu, have spoken up today to defend the honor of harav Stav and to decry the machinations of the ‘advisors’ of harav Ovadia (i.e., Deri) who are responsible for leading harav Ovadia astray. Perhaps ‘meaz yetseh matok’ and harav Ovadia will meet harav Stav (the two have never met) so that he can see for himself and not rely on his ‘advisors’.
