NJ: Judge Refuses To Lower $4 Million Bail In Synagogue Firebombing Case

fOne of the two men accused in a series of firebomb attacks on synagogues across northern New Jersey will have to come up with $4 million to get out of jail.

A judge on Thursday denied Aakash Dalal’s request for lower bail.

The 21-year-old New Brunswick resident and Anthony Graziano have pleaded not guilty to aggravated arson, conspiracy and bias intimidation charges. Dalal also is accused of conspiring to kill the assistant prosecutor handling his case.

Prosecutors allege he helped plan the attacks that Graziano carried out, when several Molotov cocktails were hurled into the residential quarters of Congregation Beth El on Montross Avenue in Rutherford, where Rabbi Nosson Schuman lived with his family, authorities said. All escaped the attack without injuries, except for the rabbi, whose hand was burned as he tried to put out the fire, they said.

The Record newspaper reports Dalal’s lawyer argued that point on Thursday and said he had obtained more than 750 signatures from people in support of his client.

But the judge said there was no reason to lower the bail.

  1. there are many Jew Haters like Aakash Dalal but they do not act on it by trying to kill Jews are burn their synagogues. To punish him by putting him in jail will only reinforce his hatred of Jews. I suggest he be circumcised if he if it was never done. Perhaps he will feel a little bit Jewish and modify his hate of Jews.

  2. #1, this is America, not some third-world African country. We don’t punish crimes by removing pieces of the offender’s body.
