MK (Yahadut Hatorah) Uri Maklev is introducing a bill that would grant parents of disabled children additional sick days annually. Maklev explains parents of special needs children by the nature of their lives are required to take the children to more doctors and treatments and therefore they would be entitled to additional sick days under law as opposed to being at the mercy of an employer.

He feels the current number of days is insufficient for these parents, and as a result, they lose too many days of pay. The bill is supported by parents affiliated with Beit Issie Shapiro.
