VIDEO: Independence Mayoral Candidate Adolfo Carrion Discusses Jewish Issues

Mayoral hopeful Adolfo Carrion, who’s running in the November elections on the Independence Party Line, has yet to be given an opportunity to discuss issues of great concern to the Jewish community. In a brief conversation with YWN, Sunday morning, Mr. Carrion promised to reach out to civic leaders within the community to discuss the issues that matter to most voters in this election.

“I have a great relationship with the Jewish community for several decades,” Mr. Carrion told YWN. “I visited Israel 5 times. I led delegations to Israel, with public and private money that I had raised myself, to raise awareness about the Jewish state and the plight of Jews everywhere around the world. So, I look forward to the opportunity to meet with civic, community, political and religious leaders within the community, talking about every issue that might come up,” he added.

YWN: What’s your stance on School choice vouchers, as a tuition relief to parents sending their kinds in private schools?

Carrion: “I don’t have a stance on it at the moment. But I know it has come up several times. I look forward discussing that with folks who are interested. At the end of the day, we have to make New York affordable for families… So, I look forward talking about this issue.”
