The FDNY responded Wednesday to a fire with explosion and partial collapse at a Queens home that had work done through the city’s free program to fix Sandy-damaged properties.
The call came in just before 2 p.m. for a collapse at the home on 84th Street in Howard Beach.
FDNY says a woman with burns has been taken to the hospital.
The city said the work was done in January, and included a new furnace and rewiring of some electric systems that had been damaged by water.
Fire marshals will determine the cause of the fire.
