Three Arab males attacked four border policemen in the capital. The attack occurred near the Lion’s Gate of the Old City.

As the border policemen attempted to arrest the three Arabs in the area began hurling rocks and chairs at the force. They were successful in arresting the attackers however. One of the soldiers was injured lightly as a result of being struck with a chair. Four additional Arabs were arrested for their part in the violence. Border police were compelled to use riot-control measures to restore order.
