Minister Piron: ‘Give Us a Year’

pironMinister of Education (Yesh Atid) Rabbi Shai Piron is not disappointed with the budget cuts in his office, confident the current administration will extricate the government and the nation from debt. Piron is however disappointed with the shouts of protest and disapproval from parents, asking “What did you expect would occur in a month and a half?”

Speaking with Galei Tzahal (Army Radio) on Monday morning 4 Sivan 5773, Piron explained “we were unaware of the extent of the national deficit.” He used the forum to call on voters. “Give us a year. Wait and see the 2015 budget will reflect the promises made during elections” he explained.

Despite now realizing the debt was 35 billion NIS, Piron does not support calls for a board of inquiry towards determining who is responsible, adding it would be vexing to do so.

Piron appears confident that despite budget cuts he will manage in adding kindergarten assistants in crowded schools, and take other measures to improve the nation’s education system. He announced the ministry’s program of dividing classes continues towards reducing the number of students in classrooms in the nation’s public school system.
