According to a Kikar Shabbat report, Maran HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef Shlita is not interested in advancing any deal with Bayit Yehudi, and as such, the Gadol Hador has cancelled a planned meeting with Rishon L’Tzion Rabbi Shlomo Moshe Amar Shlita and Ramat Gan Chief Rabbi Yaakov Ariel Shlita. The two were reportedly going to meet with the Gadol Hador to explain and advance the deal between Shas and Bayit Yehudi.
It appears that last week’s ultimatum by MK (Bayit Yehudi) Ayelet Shaked was the straw that broke the camel’s back. The MK’s ultimatum to the Gadol Hador infuriated Shas leaders.
