Litzman: PM Netanyahu is to Blame

litzMK (Yahadut Hatorah) Yaakov Litzman feels that at the end of the day it is Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu who approved the coalition and formed the government and therefore he is to blame for the current situation, no one else. “We expect Netanyahu to stop and correct the harsh blow to the yeshivos, education, mosdos chessed and large families and refrain from playing a role in such actions by giving his total backing as we have seen until now.”

Litzman also calls on the prime minister to stop “riding on the media wave of incitement against the chareidi tzibur.”

Litzman targets Finance Minister Yair Lapid too, explaining his entire campaign was nonsense “and after asking ‘where the money is’ he suddenly realizes with several hundred of millions he can cover a deficit of a billion by striking out against the chareidim and low income families towards saving himself and his Yesh Atid party.”

Yahadut Hatorah officials are quoted telling Kikar Shabbat that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu must act soon for he cannot hide behind his finance minister for too long before the people awaken and realize what is taking place. In their reference to the prime minister they are quoted adding “We realize that he is just as guilty [as Lapid], perhaps even more so as the new plan seeks to wipe out yeshivos and the Torah world in Eretz Yisrael.”

  1. Point fingers where you want, but the fact is that the current coalition was what the voters wanted based on the parties they voted for. Netanyahu could not put together a coalition that included the charedi parties because the voters did not cast enough votes for charedi parties.

  2. The new reality is grim and full of hardships. EXCEPT in democratic countries there is a vote for government decisions and the winning numbers WIN!!!

  3. But unless either: 1) he can ally with the political left; 2) he can convince the Religious Zionist to give up their alliance with Lapid — there is nothing Yahadut Hatorah (or Shas) can do.

  4. The real blame is charedi hater judge Dorit Beinisch who decided before stepping down that exemptions to yeshiva students from military draft is unconstitutional. What a witch!

In the meantime, Arabs get full government benefits even though they don’t join the military nor do national service. And let’s not forget the 70% secular draft dodgers in Tel Aviv. No word about them.

  5. “convince the Religious Zionist to give up their alliance with Lapid — there is nothing Yahadut Hatorah (or Shas) can do”

Why should the Religious Zionists ally with Yachadut HaTorah or Shas? The two Charedi parties have been dissing them for years.

  6. For once I agree with charlie (I know I can’t believe I’m saying it) but I wouldn’t be surprised if the na nach and amsallem didn’t run this would be a different story

  7. The real culprit is Bennett. Without Bennett in his colaition, Netanyahu could not form a government, and Peres would have been forced to let Lapid have a try. Bennett would not join the coalition without Lapid.

  8. Stop pointing fingers and blaming others. If we would all put our concentration on praying to HKBH to lead us on the right path instead of blaming so and so and trying to find someone to take the blame then maybe there will be salvation…..it’s time these gedolim start setting an example to te people they represent.

  9. Does anyone REMEMBER that Bennet offered to partner with SHAS before any other party? Except SHAS did not want to lose the housing, interior or educational ministry or even to share them!!!!!!

  10. How about a bit of introspection instead of finger-pointing? Perhaps there is a reason (and I don’t mean anti-Frumkeit) others did not want to partner with the Chareidi parties. “V’hiyisem neki’im me’Hashem u’miYisrael” – you need to not only be clean, you need to be seen to be clean.
