IDF Chief Rabbi Brigadier-General Rafi Peretz has given the order, to take the new mezuzah sefer out of circulation. The rabbi was responding to criticism from secular elements along with a report in the left-wing Haaretz.
YWN-ISRAEL reported earlier that the IDF Chief Rabbinate began removing the book from circulation even before Rabbi Peretz gave the order, but now it is official.
Kol Yehudi reports that many in the IDF Rabbinate feel “we must be the rabbinate of all soldiers, including Druse and others,” justifying the decision to take the sefer out of circulation. Others are bitter and resentful, opposed to the decision. The opponents feel that Rabbi Peretz’s attitude seeking to befriend everyone will result in a colossal failure and as a result, he is compromising the integrity of the military rabbinate in the IDF, a Jewish army.
They add that during the tenure of IDF Chief Rabbi Yisrael Weiss the rabbinate moved forward, and even more so during the tenure of Peretz’s predecessor, Rabbi Avichai Ronsky, but now, Rabbi Peretz is compromising their accomplishments with his policies.
The opponents to Rabbi Peretz’s decision feel his constant willingness to capitulate in the face of objections weakens the stand of the military rabbinate, its rabbonim and Yiddishkheit in the military.

It is not a Jewish Army. A Jewish Army is one led by a Melech and run according to Halocha. This is a non-Jewish Army which happens to have Jews as members, as do many Western Armies.

Your comment is inappropriate. While there are aspects that aren’t jewish there are also aspects that are. There is an ongoing battle to preserve and increase the Jewish character of the state. Instead of condemning what’s bad see how you can improve the situation
