MK (Yahadut Hatorah) Rav Uri Maklev has expressed his objections to a planned visit to Har Habayis by members of the Knesset Internal Affairs & Environment Committee. Maklev points out that visiting Har Habayis is prohibited by Halacha and if the committee decides to visit nonetheless, he will not take part but he will boycott the activity due to his commitment to adhering to the piskei Halacha of Gedolei Yisrael.

Maklev was critical of the fact that at the festive committee meeting at which MK (Likud) Miri Regev was appointed chair, she opted to raise issues that are controversial, such as Har Habayis, adding generally at such an event the agenda is limited to issues that enjoy a consensus.
