Sources tell YWN, that a suspect has been arrested in regards to the story first brought to you by YWN this past Friday, when a Hatzolah Paramedic was robbed at gunpoint.
As we had reported, longtime Hatzolah volunteer Yosef Binik and his 17-year-old son parked their car outside their factory on Friday morning, on Johnson Avenue near Morgan Street in Brooklyn. As soon as they entered the building, the suspect held them at gunpoint, tied them up to a forklift, and went through their pockets. He stole approximately $300 in cash, and fled in Mr. Binik’s vehicle.
Mr. Binik frantically called for backup on his Hatzolah radio, and the NYPD and Shomrim were called as well. The area was searched, and a few hours later the vehicle was found parked in the Greenpoint area of Brooklyn – with all the equipment (worth tens of thousands of dollars) still inside.
Our sources tell us that early Thursday morning, police in New Jersey stopped a suspicious vehicle. It turned out it was a stolen vehicle, and upon further investigation, it was learned that this was the suspect wanted in the Brooklyn “carjacking-at-gunpoint and robbery”. Additionally, the same gun used to rob Mr. Binik was found in the vehicle.
It is still unknown when the suspect will be transferred to NYC to be charged with the crimes.

It’s probably not a good idea to mention the value of equipment that may be in a Hatzola member’s car.
