The NY Daily News blog reports:
Those close to Gov. Cuomo are vehemently denying a report this morning that the governor is considering making a move on Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver as a result of the latest corruption scandals to grip the Capitol.
Four Cuomo insiders directly involved in discussions this weekend with the governor deny any validity to the report when I called them early this morning.
“”No truth at all,” said one.
“It was not discussed,” insisted another.
UPDATE: An administration official just sent this statement: “Within the next few days the governor will be making proposals. It is entirely false to suggest the governor has negatively commented on the leadership of either house in relation to these cases.”

Too bad the rumors are false! They SHOULD dump this walking talking Chillul Hashem! He’s been in “power” way too long!
No politician has ever done as much for the Orthodox community, ever. But Silver is the only person in Albany with the power to slow down or stop any policy initiatives of either Cuomo or Bloomberg. (Remember how Silver singlehandedly stopped the stadium proposal for Manhattan?) So it would be natural to want to replace him with someone more pliable.
No. 1: Do we really want the state governor to take responsibility for Jewish public officials who may be chillul Hashem? Should that not be a responsibility of voters in the relevant district? And how many governors – of New York or anywhere else in the US – versed in chillul Hashem?

thanks to him yeshiva tuitions is not tax deducatable as the UFT his allies wont allow it, and he has constantly raised taxes and now advocates for illegal immigrants to go to college for free called the Dream Act. Only inside “frum” groups benefit from him not tuition paying parents.
