Following rocket attacks into S. Israel on Tuesday 22 Nissan 5773 and Wednesday morning 23 Nissan; Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon announced Israel will not tolerate rocket fire, not even occasional rocket fire as has been seen in the past. Ya’alon confirmed Arab media reports that the IAF during the night targeted terrorists in Gaza in response to the rocket fire.
Regarding the rocket fire and light weapons fire into the Golan Heights from Syria, the senior minister stated the same holds true for the north regarding gunfire into that region of the country. He promises Israel will respond to any and all fire across the border.
He explains that regarding rocket fire into the Golan on Tuesday night the eve of 23 Nissan 5773, “once the location of the source of the weapons fire was determined, return fire was directed at the source, which was eliminated.”
