A “very large” swarm of locusts crossed from Egypt into Israel on Shabbos afternoon 5 Nissan 5773. The locusts are in the Ramat Negev Regional Council area. As with the swarms that arrived in that past week or so, the locusts are being monitored and agricultural officials will act aggressively to wipe them out and prevent them from spreading and destroying local crops.

I wonder if there is any midah kneged midah………… destroying the fields…… destroying learning in Yeshivos……. Im ain Kemach…….
It’s not a “makah” if it occurs naturally. The one’s in Sefer Shemos occured when they weren’t expected. The apikoresim claim that the makkos were all naturally occuring events that the primitive hareidim (we were all hareidim until recently) confused with miracles – so it is somewhat unwise to compare the natural and predictable locusts with those in Humash.
