About a week ahead of the planned US presidential visit to Yerushalayim, the Prime Minister’s Office has instructed the Jerusalem Planning Committee when it convenes on Tuesday 2 Nissan 5773 not to discuss approving sewage lines near the E1 area. In addition, the approval of 50 apartments in the Har Choma neighborhood of the capital was removed from the agenda as to avoid controversy with the Americans ahead of the visit.
The daily Yisrael Hayom reports Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu made his position clear regarding any discussion pertaining to construction “over the Green Line, including areas in the capital”.
Officials in the Prime Minister’s Office confirm the report, which also states planned construction on a sewage line near Maale Adumim is on hold until following US President Barak Obama’s visit, current scheduled for 10 Nissan 5773.
