The question being posed by Tel Aviv Chief Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau Shlita is “If you can speak with PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen), why can’t you speak with chareidim?”
Rabbi Lau spoke out today, Rosh Chodesh Nissan 5773 against the disqualification of the chareidi parties in coalition talks. Speaking with Galei Tzahal (Army Radio), Rav Lau stated “The people making up the state system used their talents and give of themselves, in government ministries and finance committee, and one cannot dispute their good intensions or abilities.” He questioned the validity of a policy representing an unwillingness to sit with them in the coalition.
“Even if they remain far apart on the sharing the burden issue let them at the very least sit and talk to one another, with Shas and Yahadut Hatorah…”
The rav continues, questioning as they refer to the chareidim as “brothers” yet they will not sit and speak with them.

He doesn’t understand that the “coalition” is for the winning parties, and the “opposition” is for the losers, and at this point, the Hareidim lost. The winning side ran on a platform of minimizing the role of Torah in Israeli society, and the hareidim aren’t about to sign on to that.
My Father learnt with Rabbi Lau in Kol Torah, back in the day.
Look, the responsibilty falls on the shoulders of the Modern businessman, Naftali Bennett. His ignoring the Rabbanim inorder to maintain his unholy alliance with Piron will come back to haunt him the rest of his days. Do you think he will have any Siyatah Dishmaya? I would hate to be in his position. Torah is Nitzchius and these arrogant businessman will fall just like the rest of them have been doing for the last 5000+ years!
Anti Semitism is alive and well in Israel. You can be Jewish and claim to love religious people and still hate them in your soul.
