Police have arrested two additional Jewish teenage girls in the ongoing investigation into last week’s attack at a light rail station near Kiryat Moshe in the capital.
One suspect was taken into custody earlier in the week, and the two others turned themselves in. Police on Monday 22 Adar 5773 brought all three before a remand hearing. All three had to put up bail for their release and two of them are barred from the capital for 45 days. The third, a resident of the capital, may not be outdoors in the coming 45 days unless accompanied by an adult.
Defense attorney Itamar Ben-Givir reports one of the defendants showed police a document that she was treated for her injuries, which she sustained as a result of the Arab woman attacking her, and she was simply defending herself. Ben-Givir adds that the security video cameras at the scene show a different picture that the eyewitness testimony from Dorit Yarden Dotan, who Ben-Givir says is a known leftist activist. He explains the security footage shows that the Arab woman claiming to be the victim should also be taken into custody.
