Naaleh College: Bringing You Straight into the Job Market.

L’shem toeles – I’d be wary about the graphics design
degree. My daughter took such a degree at Touro. The job market was
terrible, and anyone offering a job was paying bubkis. You cannot
support a family with this degree unless you go out into a pretzus
environment. I can’t speak for the computer and web
certificates.
I have a friend who works as a freelance graphic designer. She did not get a degree but did a certificate program like the one being offered by Naaleh. She is able to support her husband in learning and be home with her children as she works from home, and she loves the challenge, variety and creativity of her profession! Seems like a great choice for a frum girl with a creative side to her!
explain to me how you get a full Bachelor;s degree in 1 year?
a BA is 128 credits and each credit is about 15 hours of class time. Which for all of those who can not do math is 1920 hours or 80 days straight, this is class time which does not include homework which is about the same amount of time.
Most colleges do not let a student take more than 18 credits a semesters (with permission you can got 20 – 22 but only if you have complete A), and there are 2 main semesters, the summer and winter session you can can another 10 – 12 credits. which means if you get straight As and max out your course load you can take 50 credits that still make college take 2.5 years!
So a 1 year Bachelors degree is a farce
Commenter No. 3:
The “one-year certificate” is not full bachelor’s degree. I have taught similar courses at an ORT school ( http://www.ort.org ), both traditional and online. These certificates can lead to well-paying sub-professional positions.
#3- They are offering local “certificates”. These are whatever the school says it is. Unlike areas where there are industry or professional standards, such certificates have no legal standing. There is no requirement of any certificate to work in those professions. What matters is courses taken and the skills learned.
It is impossible to get a job at a real company without a college degree unless you have a decade of experience even then it’s hard
I looked around their site. It says that the certificates can be upgraded to Associates or Bachelors degrees.
