At 10:05 Thursday morning 4 Adar 5773, sirens were heard around Israel signaling a preparedness training event in the nation’s schools and city halls around the nation, seeking to determine the level of operational readiness in the event of a national emergency. The exercise was run by the IDF’s Homefront Command in coordination with other emergency agencies and government officials on the local and national level.
Needless to say repeated announcements were heard earlier in the day informing residents the sounding of the sirens is for training purposes only, not an actually emergency.
