A large majority in the British House of Commons on Tuesday voted to support a bill that would legalize same-gender marriage.
In a 400-175 vote, members of Parliament backed the second reading of legislation that would, as drafted, enable religious organizations to conduct same-gender marriages if they wish.
The bill will be up for further debate in the House of Commons. In order to become law, it has to clear further parliamentary hurdles, including a vote in the House of Lords.

I guess that the entire world are going bunkers.
IT will be interesting how this affects traditional religions in the UK. Unlike the US with a tradition of separation between “church and state” – in the UK organized religion is expected to be the servant of the state and too cheerfully adjust its doctrines to mesh with government policy.
