Bayit HaYehudi leader Naftali Bennett will be calling on Likud/Beitenu to advance his plan for a longer weekend, based on an American model. He feels that Friday should be a short workday because it is erev Shabbos but he wants Sunday to be a day off, a day of rest as well. Bennett and his colleagues feel that this is part of the revamping of the so-called religious status quo that they envision, with the main emphasis directed as overhauling the Chief Rabbinate of Israel.
The dati leumi party plans to implement reforms in the system that governs marriage and divorce in Israel and hopes to limit the authority of local state-appointed rabbonim, as well as the selecting a Zionist rav as the next chief rabbi of Israel.
Regarding cabinet appointments, Bennett has his eye on three ministries, education, industry & trade and interior.

1. There is the shailoh of imitating the Christians.
2. Why insult Muslims who are 15% of Israel’s population, and with whom we hope someday to live at peace with.
3. Actually, a four day week would solve a lot of problems – in the US it is becoming popular anyways (four ten-hour days rather than five eight-hour days) – and we can claim its a good model for showing religious tolerance (with a hint other countries should follow).
it is an excellent idea. it will prevent chillul shabbos
Simple, agree 4 x 10 hour day ~ Makes a lot of sense, let’s see if the government of the day can work this one out!
Metropolis!
1/3, why not just have two full days, that would be even better.
Are you by any chance working, or are you in kollel so offering a working person two work for ten hours each day is not a big deal for you.
the lubavitcher rebbe pushed for a sunday in israel, for years. he said that it would prevent major chilul shabbos as now people use their only day off to take care of stuff, but with sunday off lots of them would use sunday to do that.
