Syrian TV on Saturday released footage which Syrian officials purport depicts the site targeted last week by Israel in aerial strike. The report states the video shows the Jamarya research center near Damascus. The Syrian report contradicts the foreign media reports that stated Israel struck out against a weapons convoy in the al-Zabadani area, near the border.
Syria’s propaganda machine seeks to shift world attention away from the reports that the strike was against a weapons convoy heading to Hizbullah in Lebanon by showing the scientific research facility. The foreign media reports are said to be based on “Western intelligence and political sources”.
As is the case with Syrian and Iranian reports, one cannot authenticate the legitimacy of reports from those countries.

As long as Iran continues to support Syria, Assad will be able to hang on indefinitely. At some point, there will have to be surgical strikes against Iran that will make it impossible for them to continue propping up the Assad regime. The recent strike against Syria was only a test of what will be the longer-term need to bring down Iran as well.
