A four-hour orientation will be held in Knesset on Sunday, 23 Shevat 5773 to welcome the new legislators. The new Knesset is scheduled to be sworn in on Tuesday, 25 Shevat 5773. The 48 rookies, those elected to Knesset who have never served in the past have been taking classes over recent days to familiarize them with the basic of serving in the nation’s parliament.
In Sunday’s session they will learn about their 38,000 NIS monthly salary and benefits; their leased vehicle; two parliamentary aides; the 68,000 NIS annual budget to keep in touch with voters; along with perks, entitlements and obligations.
The new MKs will be addressed by two veterans, Speaker Reuven Rivlin and MK Binyamin Ben-Eliezer.
