Many kindergarten teachers and assistants in Yerushalayim went on strike on Sunday morning 23 Shevat 5773, impacting 160 kindergartens in the capital. They were protesting a planned change in the program that will provide afternoon hours for children ages 3-9.

They explain the city’s new extended day plan results in an erosion of their salary of 22% for the teachers and 35% for their assistants.
