Yerushalayim askan Rabbi Chaim Miller, who heads the Movement for Jerusalem and its Citizens, is continuing his efforts to keep Har HaZeisim safe for visitors. During a visit to the area during the Shovavim, R’ Miller was pleased to see many mispallalim visiting kivrei tzaddikim zy”a, and he is aware that the increased security effort for the area is critical to maintaining the current situation.
Miller explains that his organization has been waging this war for years, and today Baruch Hashem, there are hundreds of surveillance cameras and renovations of the beis hachaim continues as thousands of kevarim are restored. Rav Miller explains that not too long ago, this would not be possible, proud of this accomplishment, admitting it is unfortunate that it took so long to actualize.
Miller explains it is not just about renovating kevarim, but there is not an information center to assist visitors, as well as round-the-clock electronic surveillance. He explains they can now observe what is taking place anywhere on the mountain is including on benches, paths and so forth. In addition, there are security vehicles from the Ministry of Housing and the Prushim Chevra Kadisha, both on call to respond to visitors requesting an escort.
The next visit is planned for two months from now at which time Rav Miller and his associates hope to see the progress made as the renovations continue at a brisk pace.

for many years i dreamt to visit kivrei tzadikim on har zeisim but could not because of the unsafe condition. standing on the steps of rav yehuda and seeing them in the near distance and yet so far. last month, boruch hashem, i was zoche to set foot on this mokom kodosh and visit many kevorim, from bottom to top. special thanks go to all the oskim betzorchei tzibur, and especially to Reb Menachem Lubinsky. yashir koach!! and may you be zoche to continue to finish your avodas hakodesh without aggrevation and in good health.
