Rabbi Dr. Ofir Cohen of the Tenufa Agency announced the state has amended an earlier ruling pertaining to 165 caravan home families in Nitzan, families who were expelled from Gush Katif in 2005. The state served the families with eviction orders and announced those remaining will have to pay rent.
He now amended the state’s position, explaining that regarding families whose permanent homes are under construction but will not be ready in time, they will not have to pay rent since they have acted to relocate from the caravan community.
As was reported earlier, many of the former Kush Katif families remain in a dire situation since they have not succeeded in rebuilding their livelihood since being expelled.
