Thousands of Gerrer Chassidim gathered in the presence of the Rebbe Shlita in the main Gur Beis Medrash in Yerushalayim. The Rebbe spoke about the importance of the upcoming general election, citing the “harsh gezeira” and the need for strong chareidi representation to avoid efforts to compel the chareidi tzibur to change its lifestyle. Rav Avrohom Yosef Lazerson, head of Chinuch Atzmai also spoke, echoing the rebbe’s words, calling upon the entire community to vote for Gimmel on Election Day.
The final address at the kinos came from R’ Yaakov Litzman, who serves as deputy minister of health. He spoke of the need to vote towards defending קדשי ישראל. Litzman explained that this election will determine if Bnei Yeshivos will be permitted to continue their limud Torah or if efforts to close down yeshivos will be successful chas v’sholom.
