Ra’anana Junction Gunfire Creates Confusion & Some Panic


There was a brief period of confusion and panic when gunfire was heard late Tuesday afternoon 4 Shevat 5773 at Ra’anana Junction. It appears that a bus passenger attacked the driver with a knife. The driver was stabbed and injured lightly.

The driver fired his licensed pistol in the air, causing the attacker to flee. Ichud (United) Hatzalah EMTs were on the scene and they treated the driver as well as communicating with police in an effort to give and updated account of what took place, particularly the regarding the reported “shots fired”.

At the time of this report it remains unclear what prompted the passenger to stab the driver. It does not appear to be a terrorist incident. It is also unclear if the attacker is in custody.
