A complaint was filed against MK (Ra’am-Ta’al) Dr. Ahmed Tibi for a Facebook posting in which he uses Magen Davids to draw dogs with the caption reading “Allah Akbar to you”. The complaint states Tibi is using national symbols, in this case the Magen David” in a disgraceful fashion. Following mounting complaints from visitors in the Facebook community Tibi removed the controversial photo but someone captured it before it was taken down.

Eliyahu Nissim, who is affiliated with Otzma Yisrael, filed the police complaint.

Nissim told Srugim “As an Israeli citizen who pays a portion of Tibi’s salary, I am unwilling to accept such a posting which bears a striking resemblance to the anti-Semitic caricatures that were seen in Nazi Germany equating Jews with dogs. Terror organization charters make the same comparison and it appears that Tibi is feeding that racism and hate against the Jewish State and the Jewish People.”

Nissim told Srugim this was not the first time he filed a complaint with police against Tibi, citing another just ten days ago when Tibi addressed a Bar Ilan University crowd in which Dr. Tibi praised “shaheedim”, Arab terrorists.

Nissim explains that state law prohibits defaming the national flag or state symbols and he feels Tibi’s actions are a violation of that law.

“I would like to remind Tibi that a dog is a living creature, one known for its loyalty to its master. A dog certainly does not spit in the well from which he drinks. Tibi can learn a great deal from dogs,” Nissim concluded.
