11:20 IL: Maran HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef Shlita has been released from Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Yerushalayim a short time ago. The Gadol Hador suffered “a very mild stroke” on Shabbos and he was rushed to the medical center on Shabbos morning.
Following his arrival he underwent a barrage of tests to determine the extent of the neurological damage suffered in the cerebral incident. Baruch Hashem, the medical team determined the damage from the incident was a minimal as possible. There were some unconfirmed reports of difficulty moving the rav’s left arm but this was not confirmed.
Shas officials and sons of the Gadol Hador reported the rav was alert and oriented, and he was speaking with visitors on motzei Shabbos. Visitors, including Aryeh Deri, told the tzibur on motzei Shabbos the rav was alert and quite aware of what was going on and speaking regularly.
Doctors permitted the rav’s release on Sunday morning, 2 Shevat, but have instructed the rav to rest at home.
