In an effort to encourage motorists to leave their vehicles parked at home, beginning at 18:00 on Wednesday evening, 27 Teves 5773, Egged buses and the Jerusalem light rail will be free of charge on all lines inside the city limits.

Egged officials announced earlier in the day that as the snow begins to accumulate, 69 lines will be shut down and other lines will be running on a limited schedule.

Ministry of Transportation officials have indicated they may extend the free ridership into Thursday depending on the amount of snow accumulations in the capital.
