20,000 dunams (5,000 acres) of agricultural fields was flooded in the storm in the Emek Hula area. The fields in that area grow carrots, peas, wheat and onions, and the produce is likely to be ruined due to the flooding officials are reporting.
According to officials in the Galil Development Company, which owns 33 Upper Galil kibbutzim, the damages due to the ongoing storm already run in the millions of NIS and the rains are expected to continue in the coming days.
