An 11-year-old boy was burned by scalding water shortly after candle lighting on Friday night on Eben Givrol Street in Bnei Brak. EMTs from Hatzalah Gush Dan and Ichud (United Hatzalah) responded, delivering primary medical care. The child was transported in a MDA paramedic ambulance to Schneider Children’s Hospital in Petach Tikvah with serious burns.
According to United Hatzalah EMT Ze’ev Tepper, the boy tried preparing tea and for reasons that are unclear, the entire hot water pot came down on him. He was treated with Burnshield® therapy and his conditioned was stabilized for transport. Tepper described the patient’s burns as “serious”.
Hatzalah Gush Dan EMT Chaim Krieger described the burns to the child’s abdomen as “second degree” and stated his overall condition at the time of transport was “moderate”.
