Heads of the chassidish community in Beit Shemesh on Thursday night, the eve of 22 Teves 5773 held a large Asifa towards ensuring the success of Yahadut Hatorah in the upcoming general elections.

The organizers stressed the importance of this particular election, for the 19th Knesset, explaining that it is now official regarding the IDF’s planned induction of 3,000 chareidim in August 2013.

The participants also addressed the petira of the Sadigura Rebbe ZT”L and the void created, especially in the leadership of Agudas Yisrael.

The Asifa was held in the Ateres Nachum Hall in the Gur Beis Medrash in Beit Shemesh. Agudas Yisrael MKs were in attendance as was R’ Meir Porush. The speakers highlighted the new reality, of the impending draft of Bnei Torah, warning of the ramifications of the “harsh gezeira” and the need for strong Knesset representation.
