Wounded IDF Soldier Medivaced in IDF Chief’s Chopper


IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz on Sunday morning 3 Teves 5773 observed a paratroop brigade live fire training evet in the Jordan Valley area. Shortly after the IDF commander left the scene, one of the soldiers was wounded by gunfire, listed in moderate condition.

Hearing of the incident, Gantz ordered the pilot to turn around and they chopper landed and was used to medivac the wounded soldier to the trauma unit of Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem.

An investigation into the incident was ordered and the training event was halted.
