Missionaries Working Ben-Yehuda Pedestrian Mall

While Yad L’Achim continues tenacious anti-missionary efforts in Israel, government officials and agencies seem to prefer a blind eye as their activities are growing around the country.

YWN-ISRAEL recently reported a missionary alert as thousands of teachers around the country received material from missionary organizations. The missionaries hope the teachers will pass the information along to students in Israeli schools.

The missionaries are now operating on Ben-Yehuda Street in the capital, giving out tallitot, which may appear fine to many passersby. These pasul tallitot alarmed some recipients, who understood what was taking place and quickly ran to bring a sample to the local Yad L’Achim office Baruch Hashem. Yad L’Achim has since learned the volunteers manning the booths are instructed to be cautious not to reveal their true identities. The instructions, in English suggest six words to replace the words they would blow their cover, well aware that they must first attract perspective followers and hook them in prior to revealing their true agenda.

For example, instead of saying “new testament”, they are instructed to say “the second portion of the Tanach” or the “second printing of the Tanach”.

Instead of inviting one to a meeting in a “church” they simply invite one to attend a meeting “of people who believe in the Tanach too”.

Yad L’Achim is not surprised by the tallis, which has forbidden writing woven into the fabric, mamosh pasul, warning the tzibur of the stepped-up efforts by missionaries operating in Eretz Yisrael.

  1. I got hit up by one of them the other week, he made a pretty shvache delivery though. It wasn’t much of a bait for a person who believes in Torah, but it can be quite dangerous for the average chiloni.

  2. I live 2 minutes away from Ben yehuda. I will make sure that not one of these yevanim will be left on Ben Yehuda by the end of the day. (Thursday)
