PA (Palestinian Authority) officials in Ramallah are pleased with the imminent visit of Jordan’s King Abdullah in the near future. There are conflicting reports, some signaling the monarch is due to arrive in Ramallah on Thursday, while other media agencies report the official visit will occur “soon”.
Whatever the case, for PA officials the impending visit is being billed as the “first visit of an Arab leader to the State of Palestine” as they seek to capitalize on the United Nations General Assembly decision last week to accept the PA as a non-member observer nation.
Along those lines, PA officials are already researching the possibility of printing Palestinian passports as efforts continue in Ramallah to create a de facto state based on the UN vote.
