PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) could not have planned things better, for he has returned from New York City to Ramallah a hero, enjoying unprecedented support, and now, he sits back and enjoys as the international community takes blows as Israel, fighting his battle to preserve the E1 area for a future Palestinian state.
Senior PA official Dr. Nabil Shaath is calling upon the international community to stop talking and threatening and to actually begin imposing sanctions against Israel. He calls on US officials to follow the lead of the European nations and summon Israel’s ambassador to demand an explanation following Israel’s announced plans to move ahead with 3,000 housing units, primarily in areas viewed as “occupied settlements” by the international community.
Senior PA negotiator Dr. Saeb Erekat warned if Israel moves ahead with the E1 project, it will bring an end to the two-state solution as well as bringing an end to the diplomatic process and the hope of any future negotiations.

Israel should call their bluff. Besides for the fact that Israel announced what their intentions are, the Palestinians haven’t promised a thing. Sharon never held a press conference “announcing” he’s building in the Shtachim- he just did it.
Israel has to take a page out of Syria’s playbook and just ignore the rhetoric and condemnation. The UN is there to maintain the peace not to decide how to dissect an existing country – for the “promise” of peace. As long as the Israelis aren’t bombing, the Palestinians should be thankful for another day alive. First they cut taxes now they should cut water and electricity. Then let’s see how well you can maintain “your own state” Abbas.
“Growing”??? The Christian anti-Semites are alive and strong and have a kinship with Muslims–they both are long standing Jew-Haters. It is not growing. It is already fully mature.
