Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman on Thursday, 15 Kislev 5773 begins an official visit in New York City. He will be meeting with United Nations Secretary-General Ban ki-Moon, and he will tell him the PA (Palestinian Authority) move seeking non-member nation observer status in the General Assembly will just serve to “increase the disagreement” between the PA and Israel.
Liberman explains that while it is known in advance the move will be approved with a large majority, the move adds to the disagreement and diminishes the chance of Israel and the PA reaching agreement.
The media reports that the United States made a final attempt to persuade PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) to back down from the planned move, but as in the past, the PA leader rejected the US request.

Will the US hold back money to force their hand, probably not.
If the us would say, no funding if you go to the un, maybe it would have helped.
