NYC Retailers Ready To Welcome Early Shoppers

Major retailers in the city are getting ready to open their doors for those looking to get a jump on some Black Friday deals. For better or for worse, stores are pushing up their openings even earlier this year.

Many Toys-R-Us stores in the city are opening at 8 p.m. including the flagship store in Times Square.

Sears and K-Mart stores are also opening at 8 p.m., though some locations opened their doors at 6 a.m.

Target stores are opening at 9 p.m.

Best Buy and Macy’s open at 12 a.m.

Dozens of shoppers hoping to snag some great deals lined up Thursday afternoon outside the Best Buy on 23rd Street in Chelsea.

With the economy still on the mend, at least two consumer agencies are projecting a boost in holiday spending this year.
