Bank Hapoalim has been operating a mobile bank in southern Israel for soldiers and members of security agencies to permit them to conduct basic banking during the warfare. Many soldiers were called up days ago and are short of cash, and the mobile bank will permit them to cash checks, deposit and withdraw funds towards facilitating their continued ‘on call’ status.
Other banks operating in rocket strike areas reported they were remaining open to permit residents to conduct business if the situation permits, realizing the need to maintain a semblance of normal life during the warfare.
Banks also announced that foreclosures and other procedures were all being frozen, along with payment schedules, to permit residents to get through the difficult period without additional hardship.
