Israel has agreed to a truce in the Gaza Strip, but will not lift its blockade of Gaza, Israeli sources said, declining to give further details of any deal.
Shortly before, a Palestinian official with knowledge of Egyptian mediation between the two sides told Reuters that there was a ceasefire agreement to end eight days of fighting in Gaza that has killed more than 140 Palestinians and five Israelis.
Israel’s Channel Two television said a ceasefire would be announced in Cairo later in the evening by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

The theory of not eliminating the current leadership in gaza for fear that the succesive regime will be worse is faulty and already proven wrong. Arafat and the plo were allowed to survive and gave birth to hamas, hizbollah, and islamic jihad to name a just a few. Let’s try something new like completley eliminating the terroristleadership and where the chips fall

Hello everyone. I’m always reading comments about how the Israeli government is about kochi v’otzem Yadi etc. etc.
Obviously living thru this war there is clear Yad Hashem protecting us, just keep the Tehilim, prayers, acts of chesed coming to continue being meorer rachamim.
Saying things like “this is why I will not be voting Likud in the next election” or “let’s try something new like completely eliminating the terrorist leadership” or “another gutless PM agrees to a cease fire” or anything els of the sort, to me is nothing short of kochi v’otzem Yadi , being chareidy, or frum or dati, etc. doesent qualify for forgetting about HKB”H,
This cease fire may very well be a nisayon mishamayim testing Jews how well WE are taking the CLEAR message from heaven that everything is governed by a higher authority EVEN when things on the ground seem like we’re “giving in”. Unfortunately people only “see” the Yad Hashem after a rocket lands in an open field. We are definitely during a Midas Hadin period.
