On the 19th of Cheshvon, Yeshvia Aharon Yaakov Ohr Eliyahu had the unique opportunity to host Jews from all backgrounds at its spacious La Brea campus. The tree-lined courtyard was filled with well over 1000 people anxious to take advantage of the opportunity to participate in such a rare mitzvah, never yet performed west of Chicago.
“We are indeed grateful to Rabbi Yehuda Leibovics, the renowned Mohel in Los Angeles for decades, who initiated and carried through the many aspects required to fulfill this Mitzvah. In particular we are grateful that Rabbi Lebovics chose to share this opportunity with the community at large,” said Rabbi Eidlitz, the yeshiva’s Executive Director, who organized the event.
“This is only one of the few times, to my knowledge that this has been done in the United States,” Rabbi Leibovics stated.
“My son did it in Cleveland and it was also done in Australia,” he added.
In attendance were Yidden from all backgrounds including Yeshivish, Chasiddsh, Sephardim, Ashkenazim, and many well-known community leaders and distinguished Rabbonim.
Spontaneous dancing and singing followed the conclusion of the event.

Actually it was done last year in Hawaii, which I believe is west of Chicago.

When I first saw the headline, I hoped someone had found a way to redeem the Democratic party – but it wasn’t on that sort of donkey (okay, I admit, the Democrats are probably unredeemable).
1. Is anything west of nyc?
Where do they get “never yet performed west of Chicago”? There was one in Twin Cities in the 90s.
“never yet performed west of Chicago.”
Unfair to criticize the writer since we all know our yeshiovs don’t teach geography.
Eretz Yisroel is also is west of Chicago. The writer meant it regarding the hemispheres………..
Is Rav Dunner from the UK going to speak by this one too
