Many of the residents of southern Israel were compelled to leave their homes on motzei shabbos and head for public shelters as the national government has yet to complete fortification of all homes in rocket range.
Some of the residents explained that as most of the country runs to get out of the rain, referring to the stormy winter weather, “we have to run to get out of another kind of rain”, referring to the rocket fire from Gaza.
Many parents were seen carrying mattresses and blankets, moving hurriedly with their children as they ran for safety, realizing it was going to be another night of warfare and there was no point attempting to remain in the comfort of their home as the rocket fire was heavy.
Four rockets were fired into southern Israel during the early morning hours on Sunday. All schools will be open with the exception of Gan Yavne.
