A new road was ceremoniously dedicated this week by Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz, who cut the ribbon on Road 3507. The roadway connects from the new entrance to Kiryat Arba to the Ma’aras HaMachpela as well as the IDF post near Givat Charsina. In actuality, the road is old but it was significantly widened, now two lanes in each direction.
The improvements on the 2.5km (1.5 miles) roadway include the widening, traffic circles, a sidewalk along the road, a divider between directions, improved roadway lighting and more, at a cost of 30 million NIS.
Needless to say Minister Katz and community leaders emphasized their commitment to the holy city today and in the future.
